Earlier this week, representatives from DraftKings and the PGA Tour were on hand at TPC Scottsdale to host a groundbreaking event for a new venue. Next fall, sports fans will be able to visit the DraftKings Sportsbook at TPC Scottsdale, a new sportsbook and dining coming to the region.

Details of the New DraftKings Arizona Sportsbook

DraftKings will create the new sportsbook across the street from TPC Scottsdale, next to TPC Champions. The facility will be 12,000 square feet in size and offer gaming and dining, open all year round for visitors. The brand is calling the new facility a first-class experience open to golfers and non-golfers.

The new DraftKings sportsbook will be the first for a tournament site of the PGA Tour. Guests are welcome to visit and wager on golf games or any other sports offered by the brand. The new facility is part of the existing partnership between DraftKings and the PGA Tour. The two first started working together back in 2019. At that time, PGA Tour named DraftKings as its daily fantasy sports partner and the official betting operator of the tour.

It wasn’t long after the partnership was born that the idea of creating a land-based sportsbook emerged. The plan was to bring the property to TPC Scottsdale with the details first announced in April 2021. The groundbreaking this past week advances the plan of the two companies to bring a physical space to patrons of TPC Scottsdale in Arizona.

Elevating the Experience

The new sportsbook will elevate the experience of the TPC Scottsdale, especially during events. Jay Monahan, the PGA Tour Commissioner, was on hand during the ground-breaking ceremony and spoke about elevating the experience.

The sportsbook will bring The People’s Open to a new level and will be worthy of a world-class destination. The property will also help to maximize the PGA Tour’s economic, tourism, and charitable impact on the local community and the state.

The DraftKings Sportsbook will offer a modern experience with a luxury vibe. The location will include glass firepits with indoor and outdoor seating. Sports fans can bet via gaming kiosks and watch events on several screens throughout the property.

A total of 40 sports betting kiosks will be located on-site for self-service betting. Seven ticket windows are also included in the plans, with team members ready to assist with betting. The wagering options will be comparable to what is already offered in the state and within the online sportsbook of DraftKings.

Along with betting, the property will also offer a restaurant with beers on tap and mixed drinks. A total of 390 seats will be offered throughout the sportsbook for outdoor and indoor seating.

The WM Phoenix Open is played yearly at TPC Scottsdale and has a history of large crowds attending the event. It is a perfect event for highlighting the sportsbook and gives attendees more to enjoy while onsite.

More To Come

The new sportsbook will bring fun and exciting experiences to TPC Scottsdale and also offer locals job opportunities. Once up and running, around 100 to 120 employees should be working on-site. DraftKings and PGA are using this first sportsbook as a test of sorts to see how popular it is with guests.

The goal is to ensure it works and create a great experience for people visiting. The companies will study the outcome and it could be that more venues are created in the future at other PGA Tour sites. It will certainly be interesting to see how well players receive the new sportsbook once opened and if it might work in other states across the US.
