The opening day of the College Football bowl season is Saturday! Tis the season for some fun College Football games, which will go on over the next two weeks or so. There are a bunch of games on Saturday, and then trickle along throughout the week. Today, we want to focus on the weekend games. Here are some College Football Bowl Games to bet over the weekend:
Ohio Bobcats +3.5 over Georgia Southern Eagles
The first game of the bowl season. If you are waking up on the West Coast, 8am breakfast and College Football. The Ohio Bobcats and their 9-3 team will get the 6-6 Eagles. Georgia Southern really struggled down the stretch with four straight losses. The Eagles allowed 55 in their season finale to Georgia Southern. While Ohio is not an elite offensive team, they will have enough to win this game. The Myrtle Beach Bowl in South Carolina is the first of a long stretch of bowl games, and the Bobcats are the winners.
New Mexico State Aggies -3.5 over Fresno State Bulldogs
This is a little bit of a battle of two teams heading in opposite directions. The Aggies have 10 wins on the season, and played in the Conference USA title game. Fresno State felt they were going to play in the Mountain West Conference game, and then fell in their final three games, and failed to make it. Fresno State has not won a game since November 4th. The Aggies have a long-time, steady, consistent coach, while the Bulldogs saw their head coach have to step away from his duties due to health issues. Look for the consistent play from the Aggies to shine through here, as they take down the New Mexico Bowl. There is no question who will have the home crowd advantage here.
Boise State Broncos +4 over UCLA Bruins
The Mountain West Conference is back at it with the Boise State Broncos. The Broncos fired their head coach in the middle of the season, and went on a red hot run. The Broncos are seeking their fifth straight win. They will take on a Bruins team that will be missing their best defender, who is heading to the NFL Draft. The Boise State Broncos have got to love that. Boise State has two guys that can break free for a long distance and get into the end zone. Sure, the Broncos are using a true freshman under center, but get the ball in the hands of his weapons and they will succeed. Look for the motivation factor to side towards the Boise State Broncos. Despite being not far from home, we expect an uninspired effort in the final game as members of the Pac-12.
California Golden Bears +3 over Texas Tech Red Raiders
The final game on Saturday features a Pac-12 team against a Big-12 team. The California Golden Bears and Texas Tech Red Raiders are getting together. The Golden Bears have been hot, as they had to, to become bowl eligible. California won their final three games of the season. In the winning streak, they lost their offensive coordinator. For the Red Raiders, they are getting their best running back to return for this game, and into next year. But, the defense is still a mess. The Golden Bears are able to move the ball and get into the end zone. The California Golden Bears win this game at the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, despite being the underdogs.
