As the launch of the sports betting industry draws near in Arizona, more service providers are getting in on the action. Scientific Games and Betfred Sports recently signed partnership deals with tribal operators in the state to provide the platforms needed to launch sports betting sites. Scientific Games will work with the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, while Betfred has teamed up with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.

Scientific Games Deal

Let’s start with the Scientific Games deal. The Pascua Yaqui Tribe operates the Casino Del Sol and Casino of the Sun in Arizona. The platform provider will use its OpenSports solution at the casinos, with players having the ability to bet via counter service within sportsbooks and self-service kiosks.

Scientific Games will offer a full range of sports betting services using its OpenBet and OpenTrade products. The platform is highly regarded for its performance and promises to offer players an exceptional experience.

Kimberly Van Amburg, the chief executive for Casino Del Sol, stated that the OpenSports solution of Scientific Games is a ‘robust and scalable platform’ that will hold up to the pressure connected to major sporting events. While at the same time offering bettors an extensive range of sports betting markets.

Betfred Sports Deal

Earlier this month, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation announced a new deal with BetFred Sports. The agreement will see the brand providing sports betting services to the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort, with a Las Vegas-style retail sportsbook. Online and mobile options will also be provided via Betfred for the tribe.

The launch of both service options is contingent upon licensing and regulatory approval. If regulators give the green light, plans are to launch later this year. President of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, Bernadine Burnette, commented on the announcement, stating the partnership starts a new chapter for the casino.

The tribe is excited about sports betting coming to Arizona and is thrilled to seek an event wagering license in the state. Ms. Burnette is hopeful that the tribe will be approved and offer customers digital and retail betting.

For Betfred Sports, the company sees the partnership to further expand services within the United States. Betfred Group Chief Operating Officer Mark Stebbings commented that Arizona is an amazing opportunity after its launch in Colorado, Iowa, and Pennsylvania.

Stebbings stated further that Betfred Sports looks forward to working with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and using its 50 years of experience in the industry to bring the best betting services to sports fans in Arizona.

The Betfred Sports and Scientific Games deals are a small portion of partnerships being signed in Arizona in anticipation of the sports betting industry launch. It will be interesting to see which tribes are given approval and how services startup once the final approvals are given, and services can begin.
