We move to College Football Week 4 in the Pac-12, and there has not been a better conference in College Football than the Pac-12. Of the 12 teams in the conference, 8 of them have yet to lose this season.
Overall, the league is 30-6. Unfortunately for the folks in the state of Arizona, the Sun Devils and Wildcats account for 3 of those 6 losses. Now, we head into conference play, where Week 4 features some incredible games. Let’s take a look at the conference games for Saturday.
Before we get started, reminder you can bet on all of these week 4 games in Arizona over at Caesars.
Colorado Buffaloes +21 at Oregon Ducks
This game boasts the highest total on the board this weekend at 70.5 points. Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you know what has been going on with the Colorado Buffaloes football team. Deion Sanders and his Buffaloes are coming off an emotional win in overtime over a state rival. Now, they face their toughest test of the season.
While the Buffaloes are going to struggle to win this game, they should keep this within three touchdowns. The Ducks are going to be ready, and in reality every team on the Buffaloes schedule the rest of the season will be ready for them. Look for a fun game, but in the end, too much Ducks.
UCLA Bruins +4 at Utah Utes
A battle of two methodical, but fundamental, and talented teams. The UCLA Bruins and the Utah Utes both come into this game unbeaten. Both teams are in the Top 22 in the latest rankings. UCLA has quietly replaced some really good offensive players from a season ago, and continues to put points on the board.
For Utah, they have two pretty notable wins, over Florida and Baylor. The win over Florida looks better, after the Gators beat up on Tennessee. This should be a fun game, but it’s never an easy task to win on the road, at Utah. Utah by a touchdown seems like a good choice for this one.
Arizona Wildcats -12 at Stanford Cardinal
The Arizona Wildcats would love to have that trip to Mississippi State back. A turnover here or there, and this team is 3-0 heading into this game. Jayden deLaura needs to be better in this one for the Wildcats to have any chance at winning. His five interceptions through three games is not getting the job done. Stanford is 1-2, and coming off a home loss to Sacramento State.
While the Cardinal will be motivated to improve, there is only so much they can do, not a ton of talent on that sideline. The Wildcats win, but this looks more like a 10 point game. Too many points. Take the home underdog.
Oregon State Beavers -3 at Washington State Cougars
Two really good, underlooked football teams here. Both sit in the Top 21 of the Associated Press poll. The Oregon State Beavers have got a whole new look with the addition of D.J. Uiagalelei. The former Clemson signal caller has given the Beavers offense a new look with six touchdown passes and two interceptions through three games.
The Beavers have won all three of their games by double digits, but this game and a meeting with Utah to finish the month will see where they are at. For Washington State, they have a home win over Wisconsin on their resume. The Cougars are a high scoring bunch, as they are averaging just over 48 points per game. Look for Washington to use that offense at home, and take this one, moving to 4-0 on the season.
California Golden Bears +21 at Washington Huskies
This does not seem like a game that will go well for the visitors. Michael Penix Jr. is on a mission to get to the Heisman banquet in December. The Huskies are a team that will not stop scoring.
The Golden Bears have gotten off to a nice start, with wins over North Texas and Idaho, but their 10 points in the loss to Auburn show they are not quite ready for the big stage. This is going to be the biggest stage yet. Look for a blowout here. Washington 50-13 looks pretty likely for Saturday.
USC Trojans -35 at Arizona State Sun Devils
The Sun Devils could not ask for a worse opponent following their 29-0 beat down at the hands of Fresno State. Things are not going to go well in Tempe on Saturday. The Trojans are the top scoring team in the country, with just shy of 60 per game. The passing game, led by Caleb Williams is fantastic, as they are picking up nearly 400 yards per game.
For Arizona State, they have to find some kind of offense, with just 13 points per game to start the season. Even if they score 13 on Saturday, they will likely not cover the spread. The Trojans are good for at least 45 in this game. USC wins big in Tempe.
Enjoy the games this weekend. These are great games on paper, and now it’s time to see if the games are as good as advertised, on the field. Good luck!
