BetMGM Sportsbook has taken the state of Arizona by storm through its mobile app. There is now a retail BetMGM Sportsbook located in the state, and it’s expected to be a very popular betting location.
The new property was recently launched at Vee Quiva, a Gila River Hotel and Casino, in the West Valley on Friday. Retail sports betting has not been as popular as mobile in the state, which is normally based on American trends. However, this facility should be competitive based on its location and popularity in the state.
First In-Casino Retail Betting Facility
Sports betting in Arizona is available through mobile devices and retail locations at casinos and professional sports betting facilities. There are retail sportsbooks at sports betting facilities, but this is the first in-casino sportsbook in the state.
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt spoke about the addition of the sportsbook at Vee Quiva. He said, “It’s great to see our partnership with Gila River come to life in Arizona. The BetMGM Sportsbook at Vee Quiva will be a true destination for sports fans, and we look forward to opening additional venues at Wild Horse Pass and Lone Butte.”
He continued by stating, “These retail sportsbooks complement our existing mobile platform in Arizona and further cement our goal of providing BetMGM customers with a world-class experience.”
The news of the sportsbook was announced in August when BetMGM announced the partnership between Gila River and the Cardinals. Since BetMGM formed a partnership with Gila River, Wild Horse Pass and Lone Butte will also receive retail betting platforms in the future.
These three falls under Gila River’s properties, and they are three of the best casinos in the state. BetMGM covered its bases by partnering with the state’s lone NFL team and a massive casino franchise.
Kenneth Manuel, the CEO of Gila Rivers Casino, was elated after the launch. He believes the property is going to be a standout in Arizona’s promising gambling state.

The Sportsbook
The appeal of retail sportsbooks is to be in an environment with other bettors sweating out wagers. The experience of retail sports betting is unmatched, especially because of the massive video walls, seating, and food in most locations.
The BetMGM Sportsbook at Vee Quiva has 25 television screens and a massive media wall. There is seating for over 100 guests at the property. There are 20 betting kiosks where people can place their desired wagers.
Additionally, ticket writers are on hand to help guests who need assistance. The sportsbook launch at Vee Quiva is the first of the three from Gila River. BetMGM is working on opening a sportsbook at State Farm Stadium with the 2022 season as a target launch.
This property should yield some large revenue on Sundays. Although, the property will be open throughout the year.

Gila River operates three casinos in Arizona, which are all owned by the Gila River Indian Community. The three are Wild Horse Pass, Lone Butte, and Vee Quiva.
All the casinos are open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. They have a combination of table games and slots, as well as sports betting locations. Sports betting will serve as an attraction for casino gaming, where the tribe makes most of its money.
