It’s Conference Championship weekend in College Football. While most of the games are on Saturday, there are a couple games Friday night to get the action started. We have ranked the Top 5 games we are looking forward to, and giving a bit of our betting preview for the games. Here they are:
Boise State Broncos -2 over UNLV Runnin Rebels
We did not even know who was going to play in this game until the final minutes of the regular season in the conference. This is the Mountain West Conference, where essentially the Runnin Rebels will get a chance to play at home. The Boise State Broncos have had an odd season, finishing 7-5, but winning their final three games to get into the conference title.
They fired their head coach mid season. UNLV is coming off a loss last week. The momentum is on the Broncos side, and that’s where we expect this game to go. Betting Boise State -2 on the road is the bet to make here.
Louisville Cardinals +2.5 over Florida State Seminoles
The Florida State Seminoles are playing with their back up quarterback. This is not the Florida Gators. This is Louisville, which has dudes all over their offensive unit. But, can they do enough damage on the defensive side of the ball? This looks to have the makings of a low scoring game
Nothing the Cardinals would love more, especially coming off a loss to Kentucky last week than to ruin the title chances of Florida State. In our bets, that is what we are banking on. Florida State falls a game short and gets upset on Saturday. This is the Atlantic Coast Conference title game played in Charlotte.
Oklahoma State Cowboys +14.5 over Texas Longhorns
The Big 12 title game in Dallas is going to be an intriguing one. This point spread seems too high. Especially for an Oklahoma State Cowboys team that will love to run the football and eat up the clock. Texas can run the football as well, but without Jonathan Brooks that is a big more of a challenge. The best player on the field is going to be Ollie Gordon II in this game.
That is why the Cowboys have a legitimate chance to win this game. A win for Texas would at least have them in the conversation. We expect this to be a great football game. And, in reality, taking the Oklahoma State Cowboys on the moneyline could be a good investment. If you are not into that much of a risk, taking them at +14.5 seems to be a wise move.
Georgia Bulldogs -5.5 over Alabama Crimson Tide
The SEC title game. What a game this should be. In what seems to be an annual tradition, whether in the SEC title game, or the College Football Playoff, or sometimes both, the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide will play. These two teams have been the model programs in College Football. Jalen Milroe and his Crimson Tide team are fortunate to be playing with an outside chance at the College Football Playoff.
The Crimson Tide are coming off a miracle win in the Iron Bowl over Auburn. For Georgia, they just continue to rinse, wash and repeat. The Bulldogs started the season a little slow, but seem to be on cruise control right now. Until someone can beat them, Georgia wins this game and covers the spread.
Washington Huskies +9.5 over Oregon Ducks
We have this noted as the best game of the weekend. Probably because in reality this is a win and get in and lose and go home type game. Now, the winner will have one more bowl game to play in, but it will not be the College Football Championship. For the Ducks, this is a rematch of their only loss of the season
For Washington, it’s a chance to finish the season without a loss, and see where they land in the Top 4. Michael Penix Jr and his offensive weapons against Bo Nix of the Oregon Ducks. This is set to be a thriller on Friday night. Where else to play this game than Vegas. The Huskies as nearly a double digit underdog seems too extreme. Take Washington to cover the big spread.
Those are our Top five games. Notice, we did not add the Big Ten title game to the mix. The Iowa and Michigan game has the highest spread of the weekend. The Michigan Wolverines are -23 in this game over Iowa (listed at BetMGM Arizona). These are two of the best defensive teams in the country. Michigan is coming off the thrilling win over Ohio State.
Best of luck with all your College Football betting and enjoy the action on the field and in the books!
