Pac-12 Basketball Tips Off Thursday

The 2023-2024 Pac-12 basketball season will tip off on Thursday with a pair of games. The action will go throughout the weekend, with a four pack of games on Friday, two more on Saturday, and four more again on Sunday. Let’s take a look at the action for the weekend and get you ready to check out the best bets:

USC Trojans at Oregon Ducks – Thursday

The Trojans have gotten off to a slow start, with just six wins in 11 games. They will take on an Oregon team that is 8-3 on the season. The Ducks took losses to Santa Clara, Alabama and Syracuse on the season. USC is coming off a three game losing streak, where they fell to Gonzaga, Long Beach State and Auburn. This would be a good time for the Trojans to get back on track.

UCLA Bruins at Oregon State Beavers – Thursday

The UCLA Bruins are 5-6 on the season. Who had that on their bingo card? The Bruins have to win a game in the month of December. Losses to Villanova, Ohio State, Cal State Northridge and Maryland have the Bruins in a danger zone. Back to back road games to start conference play could put them in a tough spot as the New Year begins. For Oregon State, they will look to stay hot, as they have won five straight following their 3-3 start.

Washington State Cougars at Utah Utes – Friday

A pair of 9-2 teams getting together. The winner gets a leg up, and is the first to 10 wins. The Cougars have losses to Mississippi State and Santa Clara. Utah fell in back to back games to Houston and St. John’s. The Utes have won six straight, including a big win in state over Brigham Young. Utah looks like they could be one of the real deals when it comes to Pac-12 basketball in 2024.

Washington Huskies at Colorado Buffaloes – Friday

Two teams that were fun to follow in football will meet up in basketball. Washington has won four in a row, and are scoring 83 points per game. They battle a Colorado team that is scoring more than 86 per game. Will these two teams combine for 170 points in this game? Regardless of the winner of the game, we expect this to be a very entertaining basketball game to start the Pac-12 season.

Arizona Wildcats at California Golden Bears – Friday

The Wildcats start the Conference season at 9-2. The Wildcats fell to Purdue and then in double overtime to the Owls of Florida Atlantic. Arizona starts conference play scoring 92.5 points per game. That is the second most in all of College Basketball. This team has all the makings of a national title contending team. They will get a California team that is 4-7 to start the season. The Golden Bears did win their final game before Christmas, over San Diego. This looks to be the biggest mismatch of the opening weekend in conference play.

Arizona State Sun Devils at Stanford Cardinal – Friday

Two teams looking to get things going will meet up in Palo Alto.  Coach Hurley and the Sun Devils are about to blow a gasket, especially after losing by 19 points against Northwestern Adam Miller came back in a recent game for the SUn Devils, but even his status is in question. For Stanford, they are coming off a loss at San Diego State. A once proud basketball program is searching for answers. Both teams could use a win in a bad way, so look for desperation type play on Friday night.
